Shedrack Salami "Xtrovarts," is a cinematographer and visual artist based in Lagos, Nigeria, with a demonstrated history of working in the film/television, entertainment, and art industries. His passion lies in the art and science of cinematic expression. He studied sociology and transitioned to being a professional graphic designer for over 6 years, a fine artist with a focus on body painting for over 4 years, creating art centered around social change and addressing various social vices.
He further expanded his repertoire to photography, capturing emotions and documenting stories across Nigeria. In 2021, he settled for a career in cinematography and editing, merging skills from diverse artistic fields. As a multidisciplinary visual artist, he aims to make a lasting impact, weaving emotions and stories into every frame.
He has functioned as a cinematographer on some multinational documentary film projects, commercials, and brand videos. He has worked with a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to multinational corporations, including Taj Bank, Tecno Mobile, MTN, Fidelity Bank, GTbank, Nigeria Breweries. He has collaborated with top international brands, including Sony Nigeria, Youtube Nigeria, LENSGO Tech, Hollyland Tech, Godox Audio, Yongnuo, Boya Audio, and many more, creating visually distinctive videos.
Shedrack Salami has inspired a new generation of creatives through his works in the West African space and is very passionate about continuous learning and research. He is always looking for self-improvement and is willing to experiment with new possibilities of visual expression through any process of visual communication, from traditional techniques to digital ones, searching for real and tough challenges that can squeeze out the best of him and pushing his limits over and over again
